If your rug arrives with creases, put it in the dryer on low heat for 10 minutes to smooth them out.
Machine Washing:
Wash with cold water (86°F max) on a gentle cycle using 1 tablespoon of clear, unscented detergent.
Wash separately and avoid fabric softeners or bleach.
Air Drying:
Hang the rug to dry or lay it flat in a well-ventilated area.
Washing Machine Size Guide:
6’x9’ and 8’x10’ rugs: Use an 80-lb capacity washer.
9’x12’ rugs: Use a 100-lb capacity washer (commercial washers at laundromats work best).
10’x14’ and larger: Spot clean only, as they are too large for washing machines.
Important Notes:
Using a washing machine that’s too small may damage both the rug and the washer.
Washable rugs may shrink up to 5% after washing.
Some fluff may appear in the washer after the first few washes—this is normal and will lessen over time.
Shedding & Wear:
Handcrafted rugs may shed slightly over time, especially in high-traffic areas.
Matting or fiber breakage may occur naturally with use.
Spot Cleaning Instructions:
Dampen a paper towel or cloth with clean water.
Gently blot (don’t rub!) the stain to lift it.
If needed, use a mild, unscented, citrus-free soap to prevent discoloration.
